TruckClaws Comparison: What is the difference between each version of TruckClaws?
There are two Primary types of Vehicles that we designed TruckClaws for, Commercial Vehicles and Passenger Vehicles
Commercial Vehicles
We designed TruckClaws Commercial to get large trucks like big rigs, fire trucks, and farming equipment unstuck from mud, sand, ice, or snow. A good rule of thumb is that if the vehicle you are using has a gross vehicle weight rating of 30,000lbs or more you should be using TruckClaws Commercial.
If your commercial vehicle uses super single tires, you need to purchase the appropriate Straps upgrade. Suppose you plan to use your Commercial kit frequently. In that case, there is a heavy duty strap available. First responders and service members that you plan to use kits in potentially life-threatening emergencies should consider the Military upgrade kit. You may purchase the TruckClaws Commercial Kit here and standard replacement straps and ratchets here. For installation and compatibility of the TruckClaws Commercial kit, visit this section here.
Passenger Vehicles
TruckClaws II is an emergency traction aid for light trucks such as SUVs, Vans, Pickup Trucks, RVs, and Buses. Some have successfully used them on less conventional vehicles such as tractors, ATVs, and Side by sides.
TruckClaws II comes with several variations, as described below:
TruckClaws II is an emergency traction aid for occasional use when stuck in mud, sand, ice, or snow. If you own an SUV, Van, or Pickup and you hate digging your vehicle out of the snow in the winters to get to work, this kit is an excellent fit for you. TruckClaws II with Extender Bars are also used when stuck in mud, sand, ice, or snow. The difference is they come with the added power to get unstuck from some tricky situations like high-center in deep mud or sand. The extender bar attachment gives you more grip and the ability to lift out of dug-in situations using a tree limb or piece of lumber parallel to your wheel. This kit is usually an excellent fit for farmers, hunters, oil field workers, and weekend warriors. If you already own the Standard TruckClaws kit, you can upgrade to this kit simply by purchasing the Extender bars upgrade here. TruckClaws II Off-road kit is designed for more frequent use, great if you get stuck often, like to offroad, or tend to get stuck in really tough situations.
